Can you just slight damage from over revving? Or is it kinda like big damge or damage.
Yesterday, my first time at the track, I over revved. It wasn't a misshift, but actually a miscalculation. I was in 4th going into a braking zone and thought that I could brake hard and heel-toe into 2nd. But I went into 2nd sooner than I should have cause the tach jumped to ~9300rpm! I know my tach is ~200rpm off, so that means it was actually ~9100. I clutched down quick to bring down the rpms. The engine doens't make any noises or anything and still seems to pull fine up to redline. So did I get lucky? Someone told me that if you bent valves or anything like that from overrevving, it's either bent or not bent. There is no just slightly damaged. So since my car seems to sound and feel OK, my engine is just fine. Is this true?

you could say that valves are either bent or not bent but you can also say that they're slightly bent (i bent mine in two phases). if your idle sounds perfect and is rock solid, that's a pretty good sign. btw, pulling to redline is not the optimum way to check for bent valves.
check your compression
it sounds like u may have just slightly bent your valves (u can)... compression test will tell u... or everything might be ok
