Supercharger on ITR motor...Times and horsepower?
ok,ok I know....turbo,turbo,turbo.
and for those search freaks...I have searched, Im a search freak myself.
Ive considered turbo but have recently looked in a jrsc.
I spend 90% of my time autoxing and 10% drag racing...every now and again I will get into a race on a secluded highway out here.
The jrsc seems to be the way for me to go becuase of the steady increase of power compared to the "hold on tight" power of a turbo.
The comp ratio is of course 11.1 and will be getting Hondata treatment for tuning for either jrsc or turbo.
Also the elevation of the drag strip out here is 4800 feet.
Would really like to keep the total price to 4000 but I realize it may take 5000. Im thinking I can put a turbo together for cheaper, but I would want the most reliable parts as I drive very long distances in the car as well...like 2000 mile round trips a few times a year.
So...if you guys have any ideas for me I would like to hear em. Kinda got "horsepower block" going on. sc,turbo,sc,turbo
I am also assuming that I can take the boost down on the turbo to nothing for autoxing...is that right?
And back to the main topic...dyno numbers with jrsc and the set-up. Quarter mile times would be nice as well. Ive heard that jrsc aren't the greatest for drag racing but what kinda numbers are we talking about here?
Thanks

definatly SC...... especially if u like to autox..........torque is instant........
a firend of mind had it on his itr and ran 14.00 @ 104-105....... stock jrsc setup with absolutly no tuning on ~6psi
there are also other guys on this board that are making 240-260whp with a little more boost (8-10psi) and hondata tuning...... so power is not an issue and like i said earlier torque is instant.
plenty of hp and full torque throughout the rpm band = good autox car

I have built plenty of Type R supercharger set ups make 240+ @ 7PSI . I have one at 260 with our intercooler at 9 spi( Stock block)
i went through the same thing you are, i actually bought the supercharger and then sold it to peice together a turbo kit, im glad i went with the turbo. my Type R in N/A form (intake, header, exhaust, testpipe, pully) ran a 13.9@100mph with a 2.27 60'. if your worried about low end, build a turbo kit and use a small turbo that spools quick and a good efficent intercooler.
My friend back home in Florida just got rid of his JRSC ITR. He was in the mid 240whp neighborhood I think with the JRSC boost upgrade, VAFC, I/H/E and a few other things that I cannot recall. It was a nice car and quick. In his quest for more power though, he found a sweet 3000GT VR-4 and wound up buying that and going to work immediately on it. In hindsight my friend said that he would've stayed all motor with the Type-R and that since he wanted FI, he would've actually went with a GS-R instead. That pretty much goes against the thoughts of other Type-R owners who went to the dark side, but it's his opinion and everyone has one.

I ran 13.9 on my stock internals GSR with JRSC, tuned with Hondata, RC370's and stock boost. I absolutely love my S/C on my Civic, and I am glad I did it. My next upgrade will be that LHT intercooler, and I think that will make everything even better....
Thanks for the response guys.
Currently Im running about 13.9 adjusted in the quarter. I would like to get somewhere in the neighborhood of 13 flat or maybe 12.9
The car itself is a 93 Si weighing in around 2400 lbs with me in it. Actually...Im kinda guessing at that weight. The scale I took it to weighed me in at that weight but a few of my buddys....in different makes of cars went down there and everyone weighed 2400...hmmmm.
So what kinda price range (in general) did you guys put into the jrsc set-up?
And so far no one has brought up any bad news about the comp. ratio. I guess thats good news.
Whats really suprising is how many sc folks are out there.

Or you could go with the greddy kit which has the 18g. It spools up very quickly and barely has any lag. I recall Austrian type-r using the drag kit and did fairly well in autocrosses and not to mention killing ferrari's, porsche's on the A1 ring in Germany.
You can make good linear power with the JRSC, however you need to make sure the car is tuned by someone who has experience tuning jackson superchargers.
I made 285whp and 196trq SAE without any cooling on the supercharger and on 91 pump gas. Good tuning is the key!
Oh yeah I also ran 12.5@108 with 2700lbs on 22x8x15 MT slicks with 250whp and 160trq.
I later ran again with 285whp and 196trq with 2400lbs on 22x8x15MT slicks and I hit 12.5@118 spinning the slicks in everygear from too much power.

247WHP/170TQ thats before the JDM DC headers and 3 inch exhaust
