Default BMW F1 engine fun facts

For those who missed it on f1-live.com:

http://f1.racing-live.com/en/i...shtml

Some of the cooler facts:

Output of the BMW P83 is over 900 bhp.

Maximum engine speed is 19,200 rpm.

Idle speed is 4,000 rpm.

The engine weighs less than 90 kilograms. ( )

Maximum piston acceleration is 10,000g. ( )

I'd love to see them put one of these together.

Formula 1 just gives me a hard on.

Once i found a web page in which they did an experiment with a formula 1 car, at certain RPM the car makes certain noise levels, so they programmed the computer to play a simphony using the engine noise/sound, it was awesome.

you can also record the sound of an f-1 engine, actually any engine (but it was started in the f-1 series) and from looking at the recording you can get pretty close to how much power it is making from the different sound characteristics
