Official Watkins Glen post
Well, R-speed went up to the Glen. We had a blast. The Glen is a very scary but fun track. It is very high speed and extremely technical. I would write more, but I just got in and I am very tired. Look at the pics below:
Front gate at 6am Monday Morning
The bar at the Seneca Lodge
Beer me
Dinner at the Seneca Lodge
Drivers Meeting
Garage
NSX (crashed it slightly into the tire wall at turn 6...a very very scary turn)
Finally, R-speed

Just got back from "The Glen", what a excellent (but scary as hell) track. The "blue bushes" were tough to look past, so I think everyone turned it back one notch. NASA northeast did a good job with the event, we got 5 sessions each day (6 for advanced on Monday). They did a track walk at the end of the day Monday where they loaded everyone into a couple trucks (and Matt's police cruiser) and drove us from corner to corner. Walking each corner really gave you a much different prospective then being in your car. I only took a few pics because I was too busy driving with all the track time that was available.
Garage space
Nicy nice!
The R-Speed BBQ (Thanks, David)
so here is a recap
Watkins Glen
NASA NE
Tons of track time
A very fast and very big track
Everyone having fun
Everyone leaving the event in one piece
R-Speed crew

grrrrr.......:regrets:
I got some other oppurtunities for racing events this weekend, I'll post when I gets back. I will try my best to get my hands on them Formula Renaults and get those missed tracktime, :fingers crossed:
Oh man...so Ken went into that tire wall? Aluminum body should be pretty expensive to fix
I'll be at LRP for sho, it's the last event of the year. I don't want to wait till next spring. I must re-own corner 3 and overcome that sonofabitch.

Wow! Looks and sounds like everyone had a great time. I'm sorry I missed out, but glad to see everyone had fun and is in good shape. I need to get my passenger seat up and running soon for the limerock event.

That's not Ken from the Chicago area. His NSX is red, just that this black one has the same plate as his.

My only prior NASA NE event was Lime Rock and they had plenty of instructors available. I'm not sure what the situation was with this particular event but they were seriously short on instructors. And the few instructors that were available were a bit taxed on their work load.
i was around the glen (home from school for my birthday) and saw a cpl ppl's cars up at the lodge... i saw a white R with mugen style wing next to a z06, red ek hatch and an ebp si .... also saw what looked like 3 black r's next to each other... wish that it woulda been an open event i woulda loved to be able to have watched it...

but It was a great experience driving on the Glen, very intimidating (blue bushes
) but I didn't let it get the best of me. Had lots of FUN!
and very glad everyone made it home in one piece
