Posting this here as well as the hybrid section since there seems to be more traffic of swap-knowledgable people here.

What are the differences between the USDM and JDM ecu wiring? I want to run a USDM ecu but my car is wired for a JDM ecu. What do I need to change in order to run the USDM ecu safely?

I know it'll run without changing anything but the secondaries don't switch and there may be other problems as well......

Edit: This is for a 94 hatch with a USDM B18C1

 

jdm = no vtec oil pressure sensor only difference i know of, ? if this helps

Yeah, heard about that, what about the secondaries?

 

What us ecu are you planning on running? I take it you have a gsr motor if your talking about the secondaries. If you get a us spec P72 it will run the secondaries. Do you have the vtec pressure selenoid? My jdm b16 had it but my jdm gsr swap does not so if you dont have the senor you will have to jump it and and that should get rid of the code. Will be code 22

 

Here in town, we have a JDM b16 without the vtec oil pressure sensor (VTM) and a B18c-sirG that DOES have the VTM sensor

I wish I could figure out what does/does not have the sensor.

someone knowledgable said that the malaysian engines have them, and jdm doesn't and malaysian engines get passed off as JDM a lot.
