I installed the ITR catback and now i hear a HUGE rattle whenever i start the car up and its cold. sounds like its banging into one of the heat shields or somthing (metal to tin sound). anyone else have this problem ? what can i do ? is it the heat shield or could it be a crack or somthing.

 

Take the heatshield off and see if it goes away.

that's probably exactly what it is.

 

I noticed that when i installed my ITR catback, the heatshield right under the shifter was REALLY close to the shifter/shift linkage, so i just flattened out the heat shield a little w/a hammer and it's been fine. You might wanna check that out.

 

so its the heat shield near the shifter got ya will check that out tomorrow mourning .. how did u flatten it out ? just banged the **** out of it with a hammer ?

 

Did you install the donut gasket where the b-pipe meets the axle back?

 

next time you start your car, check underneath and listen where the sounds comin from. if its around the axleback... its most likely what b2finity pointed out. i ran w/out a donut gasket n sounded like metal grinding. if not... just check the heat shields
