1995 Ls tune up
I recently purchased a 95 LS with 76k on it and I wanted to do a tune-up on it so i ran to the dealer and purchased a new cap, rotor, fuel filter wires ( all stock ) and Bosch platnum plus 4 plugs, is there anything else thats missing anything im forgetting, any comments on the plugs, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah I've been wondering that too...I think you can set the idle speed at least; and set the timing.
When I had my carbureted Trans Am there was tons of stuff to do during a tuneup...but what is considered a "tune-up" on a fuel injected Honda?

question: the Bosch Platinum 4+ ...or whatever its called. I was under the impression or perhaps i read misleading information but i thought that the platinum tip plugs were not at effective in the B18B engines. I thought that the NGK (non platinum tip'd) were more effective. Someone please feel free to correct me on this one if im off. THanks,
wow guys thanx alot for all the great infoi think im gonna save up and perform all the things recomended before I do any mods. I actually did the tune up today with a friend of mine who has a honda accord and has alot of experience working on hodas so it went well, and afterwards i felt a substantial increase in low end power, not only that but my car seems much quieter. My freind also had a timing gun, but we didnt know where to connect it to the car I was thinking about advancing my timing, what do u guys think? thanks again

Your choice of spark plug material won't make a really big difference either way. The Platinum +4's aren't enough of an improvement over a regular good plug to justify the extra expense. I was quite happy with regular Bosch Platinums in my '95 RS. Worked for me, the car ran.
The platinum plugs have no real benefit on the LS, they even come on the GS-R, but result in no improvement to performance or reliability... they are somewhat more durable (more miles between changes) But a waste of good dinero....
Nothing wrong with the plats...just cost more....
Stick with the NGK's and you will have no problem mon....
And Teken... nice post....
BIG UP TO TEKEN
P.S..... I highly recommend a timing belt and water pump inspection.... you have no idea how the last owner ran that puppy, you or your honda savvy friend can do this (if you know what a wearing timing belt looks like) The belt should be replace right about this mileage, but checking it's current state would help give you and estimate on how long you can wait to save for the replacement.
A broken timing belt can lead to some bad stuff, including but not limited to bent valves and damaged pistons !
Good motoring....
