Default what kind of realistics weight saving can you get w/ the s2k?

i was just wondering...because i'm thinking of selling my car and using it as a dp on a used s2k. but what kind of realistics weight saving can you get w/ it? i've seen some titanium mufflers n' single exit exhauts which save quite a bit, cf hoods, trucks and lightweight rims...but how much do you think you could actually shave off?

you can shave off a good 50 pounds with a Ti muffler and some lightweight wheels. while the car will be lighter, especially the unsprung weight of the wheels - you will still be slow as a driver. if you really want to shave off weight, you can do that - there was a lengthy discussion about it a few months ago. you can get it down to about 2200-2250 pounds, but it isn't cheap, it's drivable on the street but is incredibly fast around the track.

If you really want to shave weight off, take out the convertable top, frame, motor and everything, use 1 racing seat, light weight rims, Ti single exhaust, and put on a CF top from Mugen, take out your A/C heater core, take out all your plastics...just strip the car... I know the exhaust alone is 50lbs of unsprung wieght, the convertable top with the motor and frame should be around 50 to 75lbs at least. as for the CF hoods, most are just as heavy or even heavier than the stock aluminum hood, don't do the hood unless you know the CF one is lighter...

but do you really want to do that to such a nice car?

S2ki.com should have exact weights of a stripped S2000....

all right guys...lets get this straight, i'm not talking about stripping the car. it's still gonna be used as a daily driver. i'm talking about getting lighter components for it.

take out the tar/sound deadening. If you have a new intake, get rid of the stock air box.
