ok guys i got my GSR block. complete except for rods and pistons. i have SI pistons that im using and i need GSR rods. im not going forged internals because i dont have the money. i have a few questions. should i attempt to assemble this motor my self or should i have it built? im NOT experienced in this at all, but i really want to gain the experience. so do you guys have any suggestions as to what i should do? the main thing that intimidates me is the piston install. the rings having to be gapped correctly and positioned right really intimidates me. are there any links to sites that give me directions with pics to assembling the bottom end? im not scared to do the head cause it shouldnt be too hard. any help or suggestions guys? sorry for the rambling.

 

do what u feel is comferable becuse anybody can tell you anything but nobody is gonna pay to have ur **** fixed if u **** it up.
personally i feel the same as you when i started and i took that chance. i do all of my work but hints and help is always good because its not 2nd natuer to you like some these guys. good luck bro.

 

Use a Helm's manual and do it yourself. Follow what it says as if your life depends on it and you'll be fine!
