Default 95 D15block into 89 Si

I recently picked up an 89 hatch (D16a6) for $500 with a baseball sized hole in the block. Just so happens that I have a 95 DX motor (D15) handy...
I am planning to swap the A6 manifold onto the DX shortblock, and reuse the cable tranny from the A6.
Has anyone done this? Are there any potential problems with this proposition or is it as straightforward as it seems? Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

i just did it about 3 weeks ago, 93 DX motor tho, it should be the same as your 95 tho, you gonna have some wiring to do witht he coolent temp sensor, the new motor has one on the thermostat housing where as the old on has on in the back of the block, just get the connector for the new on and length the wires to make it work, it shouldn't really matter which wires go where... i used the new manifold as well, didn't swap it over, why? cuz it was easier.. lol all i had to do was length the IAT wires, and use the older injectors, the new ones will work if you drill out the tabs so the connector can pop on there, if u look at it u'll see what i'm talking about... I would highly recommend using the newer 4 wire o2 sensor, there is write up in the archieves, its much better then the single wire... oh you should also use the a6 cam, its alittle more aggressive on the topend... other then that, i think the only other thing u need to do, is change out the drivers side motor mount bracket.. and it drops right in! pretty straight forward if u ask me! g/l

Appreciate the info guys -- Im trying to get this done by the weekend. If I run into any problems (which should be unlikely) I will pick your brains again.
