J&S safeguard v2
Well i want to wire this up but i put the directions somewhere and cant find them. I have the V2 and its for the 01 type SH. Does anyone have any wiring diagrams or instructions. I looked at hondaprelude.to but there write up is about the v1. IS the wiring the exactly same?
I think this should help. Good luck, http://www.hondaprelude.to/articles.html
EDIT:
What is the purpose of getting one of these? My CEL light is on, and one of the codes is a knock sensor. Do you think I'm a canadate for one of these?

How many DIP switches are on the back of your unit? If you have 6, then you have an older unit and should contact J&S for the correct DIP switch settings for your unit. The instructions I posted are for current units that have 5 DIP switches.

No, you need to fix the problems indicated by the trouble codes.

I bought a used one and it only has five dip switches on it. I contacted J&S on it: Heres the email
To whom this may concern:

And this is what they said:
Whitney:
Did a knock sensor come with the unit? On what vehicle was the unit
previously installed?
The unit was designed for a six position switch, but some units were custom
made for MR2 and RX7 with only five switches. Check for a jumper wire on
the circuit board, where switch six would have been.

I emailed him back but it was late. I will update this when I get an answer.

Hehehe.
You know, I've always wondered if I have my DIP switches set right. My unit came with instructions for 6 switches, and I followed them, but they completely conflict with the instructions posted on their site (the 5 switch version).

ok after looking at the instructions everything seems fairly easy, the only thing that confuses me is those "black/yellow" wires and the "yellow/green" wires. Does that mean they go together, and to install this i just slice the j&swires where there told to on the ecu rite? cut a spot put the J&s wire in and clean it up.
There are only two wires you have to actually cut, the ignition signal wire (yellow/green in diagram) and the MAP sensor wire if you will be using the MAP limiter. The rest of the wires you just tap into with insulation displacement wire taps.
The black/yellow wire is your switched +12V source for the J&S.

yup same here, he requested i look at it more closely. Well i have 1 more questions, are the slots empty where the j&s plug in? i just put the end clips on the wire and then i plug it into the slots right? are the slots empty?

You just lost me here, what are you referring to?

When i plug this unit into the ECU the slots im suppose to wire this up to, are those slots empty on the ecu or do i have to cut and join wires? I need some help with this unit lol, shark are you using this on your car?
Yes, and I also installed it myself. You do not plug this unit into your car's existing harness, it is not plug and play. The plug on the J&S wire harness plugs into the J&S unit. The wires on this harness have to be wired into your vehicle's existing wiring , that is some of the car's wires will be cut, others will be "tapped". As I stated in a post above, two of these wires will need to be physically cut and then spliced to the corresponding J&S wires as shown in the J&S wiring diagram. All the other wires only require the use of an insulation displacement wire tap. You can get these taps from Radio Shack. These taps close like a clam shell, and have a metal blade inside of them. You insert two wires into the clam shell, the existing wire in the car that you want to tap, and the new wire you want to connect. You then close the shell over the two wires and crimp it closed with a wire crimper. The blade inside cuts through the insulation on each wire, comes into contact with the metal wire inside each, and becomes a conducting bridge between the two of them.
O, the j&S came with a whole bunch of those clamps. SO all i do is pull out the wire it asks and connect it with the J&S wire and then plug them back. How do these stock wires come out though? Other than that i think i got it. Any special way for JRSC? Couldnt i also just twist the two wires together?
You are not going to pull the stock wires out of their plugs. The point of the taps is to "tap" into the wire, reread my description of how the tap works.
As for working it with your JRSC, if you are still using the stock JR electronics, DO NOT WIRE IN THE J&S MAP LIMITER. The JR electronics require an unmolested MAP signal. Furthermore, for the ignition wire, you should wire in the J&S after the JR BTC. I would also recommend continuing using the BTC for boost timing retard, rather than using the boost timing retard function in the J&S, as the timing curve provided by the JR electronics is more appropriate for the setup. To disable the boost timing retard function on the J&S, turn the "start" **** fully clockwise, and the "rate" **** fully counterclockwise. This will not affect the J&S knock retard fucntion.

Thanks for the help shark, im pretty sure i got this all, so which color wires will i not be installing on the J&S? SO just to make sure i cut the stock wire somewhere and tap it with the new wire from the J&S. So what do i do with the rest of that stock wire or do i tap that with it? thanks again for your help.
Shark what do you mean by "Furthermore, for the ignition wire, you should wire in the J&S after the JR BTC." What do you mean i should wire it after the JR boost timing control? What exactly does after mean? Also how do you know what wires go where? DO dirty ludes article on hondaprelude.to help with the connectors and the 2 pictures of the connectors.

On the back of the J&S where the harness plugs into it should say above the plug what each wire is for. Can you list these off or post a pic of yours? Some units are a bit different, so it is hard to advise you without knowing exactly what you have.
