Mods, sorry for being a little OT, but I wanted to see if anybody received the same postcard as I did in the mail, and if anybody has signed up or anything. Plus, it is a little tech related since they said they'd do an inspection of the engine/brakes/drivetrain/suspension/steering components
Anyhow, I just received this postcard in the mail about "A Coomplimentary 45-Point Analysis" for my car, which looks to be an "Acura Appreciation Week" event (<FONT COLOR="red">click thumbnails for larger pics</FONT>)

So, my question is, is this deal specific only to my Acura dealership (Thomas Acura)? Or has anybody else received this in the mail? FYI, I have a 1997 Acura Integra GSR, purchased from Sierra Acura in Alhambra, CA, but I have had warranty work done at Thomas Acura in West Covina, CA, Tustin Acura in Tustin, CA, and Metro Acura in Montclair, CA.

i got one from jody wilkinson acura in salt lake. it was the last acura dealership to do work on my car...but i've since switched to the honda dealership. they are a little cheaper and they handwash the car instead of using a drive-thru wash. plus, i've already driven all the acura models on the lot...you get bored waiting.

= 45 chances for them to make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ off your *** = gimmick/scare tactic to get old ladies and women in general (okay, most guys too) to crap their pants and fork over the credit card lest some dire failure occur.

</TD></TR></TABLE> true that. last time i dropped off my car at the dealer for some tranny work...it was a crazy ordeal. i got the car back and it wouldnt go into gear at all.
I had to argue for them to get my car back to the way i turned it in as. and now the shifter vibrates like crazy.
stay away from dealers.

i haven't taken my car there yet, its not good for another 3 weeks. i am taking in the 90 integra. i like it when they send me free oil changes, saves me 25 bucks or the hassle of doing it myself.
no catch, they've changed the oil and washed the car. inspection was fine. they can't do any work on your car without you approving and always make them show you what they've found wrong. i had a cv boot that was tearing apart and i told them i would be putting a split-boot replacement on. the guy said it was a good idea, because they would have charged me 180 bucks for a new boot. 15 bucks for a split-boot from napa.
honda/acura dealers are generally not out to get you, honda of NA will not put up with that. its called customer satisfaction. i was unsatisfied when i found out that a honda dealer in houston was using pennzoil instead of honda oil..because of a corporate deal...i wrote a letter to honda of NA and i was given a few free oil changes at any dealership of my choice and the certain dealer was told to use honda oil or have its service department shut down. you can't advertise using only honda products when you use an inferior product and then charge the same...that not only pisses honda off, but it pisses attentive customers, like me, off.

Hey,
I got one of those last year or the year before. I took my car down to Cerritos Acura and did that 45-point inspection thing. They did not give me any compression test results, but I didn't ask for it either.
The only thing they told me was that my tires were bald (cuz I had like 5 autocrosses on the stock Michelins). Eh, good stuff, do it if you're bored I say. Free car wash, but if you're like me, you wouldn't like the way they washed your car anyway. Hehe. Good luck.

hehehe, I got the flyer. I had the 45 point inspection done Yesterday morning. Took about an hour. Best part was that they washed and vaccumed my car:-) Even better, they gave me bath products (lotion, sea salt, and some other stuff) that I gave to my girlfriend.
Acura made me happy, and my girlfriend happy:-)
All for FREE!

What exactly did they do? Highly doubtful, but did they perform a compression test? Can you list all 45 things? Thanks
