Fuel system upgrades f22b1
My long term plan for my car is F22b1 turbo. But money is short, so i can't turbo it right now, i figured i can start getting my car ready for the turbo. I was thinking i would upgrade the fuel system. Feul rail, pump, injectors, ignition, and an VTEC- AFC, and possibly intake minfold. im going to hold of on intake and header because they would get kicked in the turbo set up anyways. Would i make any gains from a fuel system upgrade, afc (tuned of cours), and intake manifold?
i don't see the point in getting all those fuel upgrades before you get the turbo-you're probably going to run really rich... unless you do the vafc hack for a n/a setup but after the dyno time and all, i don't think it's worth it for the gains... just save your money and buy everything at once or buy the shiet now but don't put it on until you get the turbo...
for the low budget all you need is some injectors, a safc/vafc, and boost timing master/ or alternate way to retard the timing when boosting, you could get a programable ECU tuned to do your timing/fuel changes both and negate the need for vafc/timing master but most of you dont have the means for this.

there's a couple of things that you can do to prepare for turbo but it doesn't mean you'll gain power for your current n/a setup... a compression and leak down test would be good for starters... you could reinforce your motor with stronger internals... you could also upgrade your tranny too... besides that, look for deals on turbo parts and don't put them on until you have everything... if you don't have the money or can't be patient, then just keep on dreaming...

upgrade your clutch and get a lightened or lighten your flywheel. make sure your motor is in tip-top shape before you put the turbo on or else your gonna have a boat load of problems to hunt down while tuning. patience is really the key when going turbo... (still learning).. because its alot more work and time than you think..
