Default Any 450whp to 500whp+ cars out there on STOCK HEAD and valves with upgraded valvespings/ratainers?

OK as the topic states is there anyone out there preferrably over 500whp but 450whp works too that has a STCOK head and valves with only upgraded valve springs and ratainers? Reason I ask is I have a head that I feel is damaged that has oversized SS Ferrea valves and Skunk2 valve springs and retainers in it that I am gonna swap over to a stock head I have just not the valves due to time constarints to run this year at least. I have a new head being done by Brad with RLZ Engineering http://www.hondaraceengines.com but in the meantime I am thinking of doing this to run. Please no "Well why don't you use the valves too?" wuestions. Anyone? My whp is currently at 581.9whp and 381ft-lb torque 28psi with Full Race manifold, dp and Full Race T67 turbo. I don;t want to burn a valve which I know is comon on big shot Nitrous set ups. Thanks in advance H-T!

I can't think of anyone off the top of my head but I will be running stock valves with a 465whp goal (or whatever it takes to run an 11.3).

Thanks for the SCIENTIFIC answer! Thanks Rob Schneider, I think "I can do it ALL NIGHT LONG!"

If you just want to do the least you can get by with, at least put stainless valves on the exhaust side. IMO stock exhaust valves arent up to the heat produced by a big turbo and nitrous engine.

I think it was Rocket or someone that said the stock valves are stronger than the SS. But when running larger valves SS is necessary for parts etc no OEM available.. I see no prob with running stock valves, I have but not at 581whp only at 400. Using the titanium retainers and valve springs would be a good idea for higher revs. There is now titanium valves (expensive) that would be stronger though. I cant give you a scientific but speak to Earl or Rocket if he still hangs around in this Forum.

On allen's car we only have springs and retainers and it made 520 at 25psi. We're going to try some new cams and a bigger turbo in hopes of closer to 600, but i think you can do it on stock sized valves...

So what you gonna do, throw on the spare head you got? Then have another one ported over the winter. Hopefully you'll be able to make it to the track this year.

LOL! He said get rid of them too! I sold them but will use them temporarily in my set up until he finishes my head for me. He wants me to run his springs and retainers also valves too, I will trust him on it plus the deal he is giving me is "An offer I can't refuse!"

you could accomplish that with stock valves. Its not as important on FI and All motor. FI just crams air in.
