Converting an RS to ITR
I am in the process of finding an RS and I want to convert it to a type R. I am just trying to get some suggestions and comments, on around how much it would cost, where can I get some of the parts, and what are some of the best internals and bolt-ons I should get. My brother-n-law can get me the motor for around $3500-$4000 with free install, if anyone else knows ant better deals please let me know. Thanks!

You can't convert an RS to a Type R. You can install Type R parts on a RS, but when all is said and done, it will still be an RS. You are better off installing good aftermarket components rather than simply trying to build a fake ITR.

I agree.....you will never get it to 100% Type-R specs....if people want a Type-R, just buy a REAL Type-R...not an LS or RS that will never be a Type-R.

You may as well sell the car and buy an ITR, you'll save money. But, if you insist on converting you're gonna need a LOT of $hit.
For starters you can't ever be a type r because the suspension geometry is different.
You're going to need:
ITR front lip, ITR side skirts, ITR wing, leather interior, ITR shift ****, brake handle, gauge cluster, engine, tranny, exhaust, shocks, springs, sway bars, strut braces, trunk brace.. and of course.. the stickers. That will bring you in close. All for a price of around. Uhm. $8000 buckaroos. Save your cash, sell the RS, get an ITR if you want one THAT bad.

Agreed, don't bother trying to turn your RS or LS into a Type-R. Like everyone says it will not be a Type-R when done.
I personally would build it to surpass it instead of trying to copy it. Otherwise good luck on the build and may the force be with you!
I dunno.. converting an RS to an ITR really would be no fun considering there are REAL ITR's out here in the U.S
I'd rathers pend my time converting to a Civic Type R... seen a few.. damn nice

I agree with everyone else you can get the motorswap, seats, and stuff, but a full conversion is waste of time. Why wouldn't you just get a real type R? Or just modify the Rs to outperform an R?
I would buy a real ITR but I cannot afford one, that is the only reason I cant get a real ITR and the insurance, it would skyrocket. I am only 19, and in college.

like stated by everone else making your rs into an "R" would cost A LOT- So you wont be able the afford that either if your saying you can afford the type_R

i would say buy the rs they are good on weight swap it like you said and just go sleeper. i would give you much more respect than trying to be a type r
you can afford to buy all the parts to make your car look and somewhat act like an ITR, but you can't afford a real R?
something isn't right here....cause buying all those parts to convert your car is going to cost a GRIP compared to if you just purchased a real R, insurance raising or not.
and as others have said.....even if you have all the ITR parts on your RS, it still isn't an R (because you lack the ITR's chassis, one of it's best features).
waste of time and money if you ask me....unless you just want to throw in an ITR motor and call it a day.
