SCed S2ks 1/4th Miles times?
Dyno here and dyno there.
What are these 290'ish blown s2k's running in the quarter mile?
Yea yea I know the s2000 is not a drag car, but we all like to outrun SS camaros if we get a chance.
I know the 60 foot times arent all that great with the st00k (dont want to break rear ends and other stuff)
I would say low 13's somewhere around there.

however it doesn't seem likely that you can go from a high 12 to low 12's by just launching at higher rpm's</TD></TR></TABLE>
Well theoretically you can, the lower the 60 foot time the lower the quarter mile time.
Maybe not a high 12 to a low 12. What type of 60 foot times are s2k's pulling now? You should be able to get just about any RWD car to pull atleast a 2.0 60.
Does anyone know what the 12.9 run's 60 foot was?

Well what I do know is you really have to baby the car out off the line...I think mid 12's (12.4 or 12.5) are pretty attainable if you were able to clutch drop at say 6K. Granted you would need some good rubber to get the traction needed.
Is there something different about launching the s2000?
Why would you ever do a "clutch drop" I hear this word all the time on the s2ki boards.
Launching should be: Rev, hold, feather for a slight second , release the clutch (not slow, not fast, but feel the car) and floor it.
Are people in the s2k actually DROPPING the clutch at a given RPM? Why on earth would anyone do that on any car, no wonder the rear end breaks.
In my mr2 I could pull consistent 1.8 60 foot times without doing anything near "Dropping" the clutch.
I don't see why the rear wouldn't take a high PROPER launch. Mustang have weak *** rear ends and manage to get 1.8-2/0 60's but I guess you have older and more experienced drivers (at drag racing) in those cars.

I agree with 00S2kfan, most everyone won't drop the car at high rpm and if you own an S you know that it is pretty much a dog below 6K. If one can drop clutch at 6K or above I do believe it could get better times. Not sure how much better but should get somewhat better. Vtecracer has gone through two rear ends already though and remember, he is running gears too.

That is how I wrecked a 94 Civic SI tranny.
Dropped the clutch @5500RPMs with used drag radials on the front of the car - shattered the differential into pieces.....
I had a used ACT Street Strip clutch too, that was it...
Mind you - I was running a stock D15B7 when this happened.. torque is a powerful force.. use it wisely my friends.

Sorry...maybe clutch drop wasn't the best term to use. Feathering is better...I don't know what I was smoking on. You see actual clutch drops more so on actual race vehicles that are built do withstand the torque shock
What are the chances of fitting a Ford 9' under there?

Yea feather is more like it, but you arent the only one that says it. And when I was at the track I saw s2k's just DUMPING the clutch. poor poor s2...
Haha ford 9 inch, couldnt be to hard.
