Default B16a + P28 + NOS ???

A friend of mine is a running a b16 engine with ITR cams, p/p head, raised compression (10.8) and the usual I/H/E. He planning to give a 50shot nos. Currently this engine is controlled by a chipped P28 ecu. Will retarding the timing and using the P28 work ok?

my buddy just rocked his b18 with a 75 shot. So I'm a little scared of Nos right now. He was running PR3 pistons and had retarded the timing. He said it pull like crazy, but he just smoked it last night (only one pull)

I'd probably boost the fuel pressure a bit and run cooler plugs, but if you use it sensibly you'll probably be alright.

But is it safer to switch to the stock ecu or just boost the fuel pressure and run colder plugs?

The question of which ECU would be "safer" will depend entirely on what fuel & timing curves are mapped to the chip in the P28. IOW I haven't a clue.
