Rally driver takes my CRX for a spin...
One of my buddies does SCCA Club Rally in an Impreza. It's only a NA 2.2 for now, but you need more torque and handling in rally than power and it's got plenty of both. he's an experienced driver and knows his way around cars. he asked to take my CRX for a spin just for kicks. it's bone stock except for a few extra ground wires and a removed intake silencer/snorkel. the tires are about as good as remolded pencil erasers. the struts are fatigued but not shot. the moment he set out he had a smile on his face. there's a little "test course" in a local industrial park he takes his car thorugh when it's vacant at night. one part is tarmac, and there's a dirt trail off to the side. he'd just taken me down both strips in his rally car after he installed his DMS 50s. he loved the thing. and the things he made that car do....
here are some memorable quotes:
"I could take Andrew's WRX for a spin. great, it's a modded WRX. it's fast. no surprise. But this car makes me giddy."
(while taking it around an onramp at high RPMs) "Why would anyone put a fart can on their car when it can sound as good as this?!?!
"
"the fastest I could ever take the rally car through that road course is 75. We just blew through it at 85."
"You know this is going to be the group's official track ***** car, right?" ("the group" being mostly made of WRX owners)
Needless to say, he liked it. It's easy enough for a driver to convince himself about how cool his car is, but it's so much nicer to hear it from another driver. especially one ho really knows cars and is used to being surrounded by modded WRXs.

Haha rally drivers are crazzzy, glad he caught onto the CRX bug. Lots of WRX owners are fun to chill with as well. (Yes they are a crazy bunch)

which weigh more a EF or EG?
My RS will be my daily and sno-dorifto while the hatch will be the quick nimble fun car

yeah my friend (a hot rod guy) drives my CRX usually once a week (he says its fun) and it is amusing to hear him comment on stuff.
last time it was, "dude when you just gun it (in a turn) it doesn't even have body roll or lose it at all!"
he is used to driving fattys.

I would say that I spoiled myslef at getting a crx at 16 but after driving a van for the winter I can't wait to get back to the crx. So for the 2 months that I drove my CRX i would say I spoiled myself but throughout this winter I have learned how much I miss it. 38 days and I hope to be driving it again!!!!
