Integra GSR or RSX?
Hey guys,
I"m new on this site and this is my first forum posting. I would like to know which car would be better as a whole. Performance wise, I figure the gsr would have an edge, but this is also going to be an older car. Also, this is a daily driver so i would like to know which has more usable power (low rpms in rush hour traffic). Other things i have to consider:
fuel economy
handling/balance
braking
I'm not that picky bout comfort and luxury, which i know the rsx is very good for.
Also, I' would like to know specific stats if someone has it on hand!
Thanx!!

i'd go for the GSR. it has what, 10 more horsepower too i think. i also like the integra look over the rsx, but since you're looking for more than just that.... i never test drove the base rsx, but the type s wasn't too bad. it was pretty torquey, and it had a smooth powerband. test drive them at a local honda dealer if you have the chance and see for yourself.
thanx for the quick reply hondeducation!
Type S is really out of my budget since i'm just out of university.
I would really like to compare performance numbers of the two cars

A lot of performance info and upgrade on the GSR's. RSX are good too but them i-vtec is complicated more than the original vtec or maybe their the same. I-ntelligent for one thing. I would try out this new toy if i had the money. But yeah if your low on $$$ get a GSR.
considering your options between the rsx (base) over any G3 gsr..i would def recommend going with the gsr for sure... youll be happier overall. since you are a new user.... ck out http://www.team-integra.net lots of good info all about the integra and rsx... good luck

depends on what you like more. i personally like the G3 styling better than the G4's but that's just me. plus, I'm guessing you can get teh GSR for less than the RSX, which means you can use that money you saved, to start saving up for mods
Just a couple questions for you guys..
is it relatively easy to find a really good condition gsr out there? I dont' want one that is modded heavily..
ANd just to clarify: k20a3 is the rsx engine, and k20a2 is the rsx-type-s engine right?
also, what is DC5? thanx for the info!

I own a 98 GS-R I bought with 100,000 on it, perfect condition driven by a 44 year old guy. I had to do some preventative maintenance (timing belt and water pump), but other than that it was in perfect stock condition. Ive driven the base RSX and would rather have the GS-R, hands down. Good luck, you CAN get a nice stock GS-R if you look hard enough.

DC5 is the chassis code for the rsx.

I picked up my 98' GSR, its was bone stock with 66k miles for $11,700. Not too bad, it was in great condition. Just keep looking and you'll find the car you want, you might have to take a trip, but it'll definetly be worth it.

You still have a trial user status, alot of functionality comes after time....and for the question that you posed before, it boils down to this:
170 hp for around 8,000 dollars
160 hp for around 20,000 dollars
as you already know age is not really a factor when discussing hondas.......

If you look at the RSX forum, there's an exact same thread as this one, but with alot more feedback. You'll find alot of biased answeres in the RSX forum, but then again, you'll get the same biased feedbacks from this (Integra) forum.
I suggest you go test drive both, and look at the cars up close and personal and see which one you like better. That's the best advice I can give you.
Both are very fun cars that have potential.
