type r third gear different?
is the third gear in a type r different from other vtec hondas?
im wondering if the gear ratios are different and thats why the third kicks so hard
if its not that, then what is it about their third gear thats makes them so demonic!?

don't listen to this guy...Type R's 3rd 4th an 5th gears have a flux capacitating torque amplifier, that directly interacts with the VTEC to give and instantaneous 100ft/lbs of unregulated torque. Thats why there is no need for a turbo...although I prefer one.
This also allows the limited slip differential to engage to give added traction to all four wheels. Then when the helicitical gears engage, the R is able to turn 35 degrees sharper. So in turn its better than AWD...its R wheel drive!
so to answer you question...yeah it is different...sorry for getting all techincal. I would explain it in more simpler terms, but it'll take too long.
