Dyno results.....very suprising!
Okay, I entered my car in Nopi to use the dynos, be cool and what not. Well Today at about noon or so I finally got my turn on the rollers after waiting several hours. It was the Mustang dyno, (I've heard they give #'s a little high..., but...)
Well I did the run in 4th gear till the redline, and got this.
159.29hp @ the wheels!
You might say wow, that's nothing.
1st gen b16/j1 trans.
HKS intake
custom 2.5 ex. stock cat.
Spoon vtec controller set at about 4800rpm.
That's it (to my knowledge)
Now I wonder, does it have something on the inside I don't know about?

How can a chasis dyno measure flywheel HP? there are to many variables to take a reading from the wheels and convert what it thinks the FW ho to be. Maybe it was on a mustang dyno and not a dyno jet or something, the mustang dynos are notorious for giving high un sae corrected numbers.

whats the RPM number on the dyno sheet......
usually u got to input some gear knowledge to the dyno in order to read it right....
mines was RPM=3.07
that tells the dyno the actuall coreection in order to get the numbers..... check and ask

Wait, weren't you the guy who was stuck in the 15's? I doubt you're pushing that to the wheels if that's the case. Do what these others say... make sure the reading is correct.

it was on a mustang dynamometer. The Castrol Syntec dyno, which I drove across the whole infield to get to, was full.

Yes, I'm the guy that's stuck in the 15's, but I really don't care b/c this is my college car right now.

All he asked me was if I knew what my car weighed with me in it. I told him 2200 lbs. (including driver, full int. etc...) btw I weigh 250. Is that a close guess to the total weight?
Pull was in 4th to redline.
Printout I received was MPH and HP over 35 sec.

I asked the guy running it and he said that it was @ the wheels.
To maybe help it out, the same dyno was used by the guy w/the turbo echo.
Also a eg w/rough running h22 homeade turbo setup blowing lots of black smoke only hit 190 hp...
Even if it's inaccurate it helped me know if my motor was in good condition or not.

Hey, I'm not in any way dissing you or your car, I'm just saying that it seems funny that you're stuck in the 15's with so much whp (unless you're a horrible driver - are you?).

I didn't take you as dissing my car. I find it strange that I can't drive fast in a straight line too. But it's fine, b/c I'm not really using it much while it sits in the college parking lot.
