Default Integra Type R swap into my CRX DX...I need your opinions!!!

Im swapping a B18C5 into my crx. Just wondering what you guys thought I should do to it before I install. I was thinking of turboing it with some low compression pistons tp help out with boost levels. I want to keep it a daily driver at about 10-12 psi. And when I race someone or take it to the track, I want the engine to be able to easily handle 15-19 psi. Anything you guys have that could help me out with this task would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to get about 350-400whp. I know that sounds outrageous but I believe it is possible. I have heard that there are moreoptions for more power with non-vtec engines. Is that true?

Lets see.
Your first post, and you are going from a CRX DX to B18C5 to turbo.
First you will need money, lots of money. Do you have it?
if you do, you can get all the info you need here. your best friend is the search button. I suggest you begin there.

well i have figured it up that I can get the motor for about 3K I can install it myself with some help from a couple friends. Then I can get a turbo kit for another 1-2K. But before that motor gets dropped in, there will be mods to the head, and block. I am thinking of, instead of buying the motor, buy a built block from a company, and a head from another company.

With wanting that much power, and to run that much boost, aftermarket pistons are a must. You may allso want to look into sleeving your block. Benson does some out standing work on sleeves. Contact user name "EARL" here on HT to get your sleeves done by them. Hope everything works out. IM me if you have some more questions that you dont want to get flamed for

I would suggest doing lots of research first. Keep in mind that the b18c5 is a gem of an engine and in order to boost it you will need to take out those 11:1 pistons and replace them 9:1 pistons or so. If you want 15 psi or so you need forged pistons, crank, rods and have it resleeved too.

It's definitely poossible but that is a major project you are starting, but with lots of $$$ and knowledge it's possible.

Good luck and search is your best friend

Actaully, after further research and speaking to a guy that does a lot of work with turbo and swaps down in GA, I have decided to go with a B16A, turbo it, sleeve the block, and upgrade my pistons and rods. According to him it should then be able to handle abt 15-20 psi.

if you want to go turbo my personal preference would be an ls or crv... i think it would be a waste of money to turbo a type r motor... and why?... it comes straight from the factory with plenty of pure, naturally aspirated power... i would keep it that way... besides its going in a dx... do you really need much more than the type r already has?

if you're going to be lowering the compression anyways, why waste the money on a type r motor? you're better off saving a lot of money and buying a B18C1 motor and building that. the type r motor is better for N/A and low boost applications.

probably should get a c1 instead, that motor is incredible built + turbo would make it fly in a rex. the itr motor isn't meant for boost

Of course I need more power! Im lookin to get abt 300whp when im done. Im no longer getting a itr engine....goin for the B16A. Man, are you crazy!? 160-170whp is not enough! My goal is to beat the **** out of a C5. Once I do that, I will stop upgrade. And I will rest peacefully
