i might have a chance to buy a 90' accord ex-r, but it has not been started for 9 months approximately but the owner says it was in excellent running condition when he parked it... what do i need to buy/do to get the engine running back to original condition?? i know the basic stuff like oil change, plugs, trans fluid! but is there anything else that needs a change that is definately needed!?
thanks alot!

most likely the timing belt.....My other recommendation if you're wanting to make sure EVERYTHING is in tip top shape, is to take off the intake manifold, pull off the exhaust manifold.....and pull the head off the engine. Replace all the gaskets, and inspect for abnormal wear....and while the intake manifold is off the car, clean out the EGR passages, as well as all of the intake runners until they are as clean as new. You may consider at this point to go ahead and get the stuff ported/polished if you are planning on that at any point in the future.....but a really great idea would be just to send the head to a machine shop to be hot tanked and have all the specs checked. Replace all the valve seals, and any other things that may be worn.

Check/replace: alignment, balance tires, valve adjustment, compression test, leakdown test, cv boot, alxe, fuses, valcum lines, cruise control cable, throttle cable, fuel line, fuel filter, oil pan,etc
