Getting faded bumpers back to black on EF
EDIT: I've had questions about how good/bad Maaco paint looks, well here's my civic with it's Maaco paintjob (i got a special deal which was like 4 or 5 yr warranty, clear coat, etc for about 450)
Well, on my 88 4dr the bumpers and paint were pretty much gone when I bought the car. So now that I've repainted the car in Super Sonic Blue Pearl I tried out the bumpers. I tried that old heatgun trick but results were very short term. So I went to WalMart and bought this for around $4
Here's how the front bumper looked
After some painting
So for a few bucks, I'm VERY happy with the result. Now as soon as I can get my stupid rear bumper off, it will be painted as well, along with the side moldings.

Thanks guys. I just washed the car yesterday but I was waiting to finish all the black before I posted full pics. Last time I took pics I felt ashamed because the bumpers looked like crap

If someone can help me out on removing my rear bumper i can get it painted today (see thread in EF forum)
EDIT: I do have this one pic of it back on the car, but my garage was dark and the flash made the black shiny

agreed......short term. didn't last that long and with the extreme heat/sunshine around here......the fading comes on fast

Yes, the paint is new (about a month or so).
I decided not to paint the bumpers because of a few things (I wanted the color/black molding scheme, cheaper
, and I felt like it would look a little wierd.)
This isn't really too much of a project car, it's mostly used for my excessive commuting. I just don't want to drive around I a POS looking car

It doesn't look that bad. I understand not wanting to spend money on a commuter car, but IMO, it would look better painted. It is a noticeable improvement from what it was however. For a few bucks, I can't blame you.
definately looks better. tom (b18c5eh2) or whatever did a write up on side moldings. same idea. both came out great!!

)
Still need to get a new bumper light and passanger side mirror from the junkyard and debating whether I want to get new H's since both were stolen b4 i bought the car

Sure, I'll let you know. The 1 can I bought was only enough for the front bumper and about 2/3 of the rear
Bought another can tonight and will finish the rear and the moldings soon.
