i meant check to see if there is spark in the ignition system.. spark plugs would be a start. but run a ohms test on your coil to see its running properly. i'd tell you the number of ohms but let a friend borrow my helms book.. i'm sure some guys on here will chime in .good luck

I had this happen to me. My ignition went out on me. You could start the car and as soon as you let go of the key, the car would shut off. If you would turn the key back just a tad it would keep running. Does all of your instrument cluster lights come on when the key is turned to "on"?

You might want to try checking all of the grounds on your engine to see if any are loose. My cousin's GSR had similar problems and had us scratching our heads for a weekend. Turns out, the mechanic that installed his clutch forgot to tighten the ground near the starter and that was causing all the problems.

Like Slain said check for spark from your plug wires. If the engine is cranking then there's probably a chance that the engine isnt getting spark. I had a similar experience with my friends car and i was driving it. He had some crack juice in his car and i floored it bu then when i stopped the car just died out. We were stuck on the road trying to figure out why it wouldn't start. The engine was cranking but it wasn't getting any spark. Turned out we fried the icm in the distributor so crack that sucka open and see if its busted.
