96 hydro clutch on Cable tranny?
first off i know there are clutch differences, so i wanted to know if the clutch off of the 96 integ engine will work with my LSD YS1 cable tranny....anyone know?
Yes, all Bseries trannies from 92+up will use the same clutch disc. The 89-91 Bseries trannies, S1, J1, and Y1 use the same clutch disc as the U.S. 90-91 Integra.
wait let me clear this up really quick, the tyranny is a JDM 89-91 LSD Cable transmission, the engine is an 96 inetg b18, the clutch setup is still attacheted to the flywheel, so i was wondering is that would work with the 91 cable tranny
well here is teh thing, the tranny went right up and bolted into place, so is this a good, bad sign or do i still need to get the 90-91 disc? the tranny is teh cable ys1 out of an Xsi integ from jpan but the tranny just bolted up...am i good if it just bolts right up?

WRONG! The 92-93 Bseries cable trannies use the same "hydro" disc as the 94+ Integras or B16 Civics/Del Sol's.
I've explained this several times to NEROLOGIC when he IM'ed me, but I guess he's still confused.
Telling him "hydro" clutches will not work on cable trannies is false and will only confuse him even more.
Like I stated above, from 92+ on, all Bseries trannies use the same clutch disc. Obviously for the 92-93 cable trannies you must use the appropriate throw out bearing.

Like i said others will have their own opinion.I've seen it and done it.But dont take my words I only fix cars for a living!
HandCommand is right about 92-00 B series trannies all using the same clutch disc....Look at ACT they all have the same input shafts. 89-91 B series trannys the input shafts are about 1/32 of an inch smaller. http://advancedclutch.com/v3/spline.html
wait i dont want to sound retarded now at 1am in the morning, but i still cant figure out if i can use the clutch or not cuz or that 1/32 and the throw out bearing...and for the last time i have a 90-91 ys1 cable tranny and the clutch set up is off of a 96 integra b18b, everything bolts right up and seems like it will work, so will it or will it not? i feel stupid asking but its 1am and im tierd..im ready to wake up in 6hrs to hit up school...but thanks guys for clearing it up a litttle

Thanks zCivic for the confirmation. I'm here to help on Honda-Tech, I dont get paid for it. Some people on here get "touchy" sometimes and wont admit the information they give is incorrect.
As for NEROLOGIC, if you are running a smaller spline 90-91 cable tranny, and using a 92+up "slightly bigger" hole disc, everything will bolt up fine and it will "seem" to work, but its a matter of time before the input shaft will spin inside the disc because of the improper size. Dont say I didnt warn you. Now you got to take the car apart again and drop the tranny. Either you messed up the disc, or you messed up the input shaft. Either one will not be good.
If you had a 92+up tranny, and was trying to use a 90-91 clutch disc, then it would be obvious that things would not bolt up together because the input shaft on the 92+up tranny is BIGGER than the hole on the 90-91 disc.
You have IM'ed me several times and I've explained this ten times over. If you still dont understand, I'd suggest you put down your tools and have someone who does understand peform this task.
Don't let it be a time-wasting, and money wasting experience.
