i am wondering how to strip the paint off of a used urethane wingswest type-r lip i got for $20. It is silver now and it will be less to paint of i can strip it myself. Anyways if anyone can help i would be very grateful. Also does anyone know the name of the paint used for urethane? i know its different then what you would normaly use for the body paint. Thanks

i tried aircraft but didn't have the proper tools, we tried just pouring it on and letting it soak in but it didn't work cause you need a high power sprayer for it. I will give the sandpaper a shot, i just figured there had to be an easier way. thanks.

Get it in an aerosol can.. although I'm not sure if it's safe for use on plastics?

And don't get it on your skin.. burns like hell!

Air craft stripper or any other kind of chemical should not be used on urethane or plastic. It will eat the lip up. Try using a heat gun and heat portions of the paint, and then try lifting it with a putty knife and pealing it by hand. If that doesnt work then use some 80 grit and take it down to the primer level just before you hit urethane. Next use like 150-220 grit and sand the entire lip before you primer it.

Oh hey I forgot, be careful not to get the lip too hot! I think if you get it too hot it might start to bend and warp.
