Yesterday I started my car the the Maint Req'D Light flashed for a few seconds (after the other lights turned off). Is this normal? The car is barely 5 months old and has 9000 kms on it. It's been driven fast and sometimes hard but I try to take really good car of it.

Should I be worried?

 

nope, hit that stupid maintenance button underneath the dash
or better yet disconnect it

It actaully dawned on me to check my owners manual right after my post

It says that it will increase in duration as the maintnence interval approches, so I guess it's safe. I've gotten my oil changed already and should get another soon, then it's the 12 000 km service whitch is tire rotation and "visual" inspection....

I guess i'm gonna be alright...
