all acura tech heads, get in here...please
ok my bro has a 1st gen integra, and he drove it from KC to Dallas
and when he got to Dallas he got off the offramp and the car started
sputtering down and then it died
he tried cranking it and it would
want to turn over but wouldn't.
i'm thinking maybe it's his fuel filter but I don't know much about teg's
any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
thnx,
skdrcr

before asking something do your homework first:
check:
if your not getting fuel
fuel system(fuel pump, relay, fuel filter, injectors)
if you are not getting any spark
dizzy(ignitor, coil)

i here what you guys are saying, i think the coil is a possibility too
but there is one problem, i'm in Kansas City, my bro and his teg
are in Dallas, and he don't know much about cars
also when he checked his oil after the car died, it was over a qt low

It may be that some oil is still in the longblock... sometimes that happens and it looks a qt low... vtec motors can look like they are almost 2qts down sometimes.

does the car actually have fuel in the tank? Fuel filters are supposed to last the life of the car in our cases- and rarely do I ever see a FF that is bad enough to make a car not run. It MAY be the fuel pump, but you'll need further diagnosis to determine that. Check for spark-any fool can do that. If there's spark then run down the list from there..

Fuel filters do not last the life of the car... they should be replaced every 60K or so.

True, on n/a cars running stock pressure. But there is always that one in 10,000 chance....
