rotors squeeling!!help
hey guys this morning i fired up my car and drove it to work fine. Did my shift and was getting ready to go home, while i was pulling out of the parking spot my car started squeeling from the right front rotor. Half way home it stopped squeeling.
The sound it is making sounds like metal on metal or when u have no brakes left and calipers rubbing on metal. But this only happends when my car is going so it has nothing to do with the brakes.
Anyone have any suggestions or have a clue why it did that? should i get my car checked or it's probably nothing?
I'm gonna let my car sit for awhile and go try it again to see if it does the same thing.
thanks

umm it probably is your brakes. If you don't know what squeling brakes sound like, bring it to a mechanic - or you can just look at the pads and see how thin they are... Chances are it's time for a new set.
(edit: your brake pads have built in squelers that tell you when they are too thin - they only squeel when you ARE NOT APPLYING THE BRAKES)

I bet five bucks you need new brake pads.
Did you try looking through the spokes of your wheels to see how worn the top edge of the pad looks? That doesn't always tell the whole story, but if it's worn down below 2 mm thickness of pad material there, then they definitely need replacing.

brake pads seem fine it's all there, car has only 17,000 miles on it and it's usually normal driving. haven't been tracked or auto x yet. can it be just the brake dust?
