just got back from looking at a crx, looks nice
ok i need some advice, i just got back from checking out the car i want to buy, and im shocked at how good it looks for the price. $2000
, down from $3700. why? because the owner is selling is custom fab/engine swap/rebuild/bolt on intallation/auto repair garage...ok some specs
*'91 crx Si, black, sunroof
*new B16 swap, has not been "fun" driven yet.
*ACT stage 2 clutch
*short shifter
*tein springs
*good exterior, needs a wash/wax, and then maybe slap on some paint
*good interior, needs some armor-all and a vacuum
*needs a pr3 ecu, so no VTEC at the moment
*maybe needs tires for stock 14" black wheels
all for $2000 what do you guys think...i want it

Thats sounds like one hell of a deal to me. Just watch out that there are no hidden things that are messed up. Most likely that engine cost more than the car is for sale, so check the car out throughly. You may want to have a garage check it out the frame. If all is good, jump on the sucker fast before someone buys it from you.
actually its just $2000 to me because the shop owners friend/business partner(?) is a friend of mine<-this guy buys and sells JDM cars(R31-R34, S13/14/15's/180sx,and others) most likely he will slap the whole $3700 on for anyone else, the car is still worth more than that though....
nah, thats way out in gardena....i should say he's starting his business in jan '04, but i already seen is skylines and silvias...
You prob already know this, but I'd at least do a carfax if I were you...deals that are too good to be true usually are. I still have carfax for the next few days, so I can run the VIN for you if you want. Lol, it costs almost if not more to get a B16 swap for $2k. I'd also never buy an old B16a1 swap without doing some sort of rebuild, just to be reliable. You could at least do a compression check though.
I hate to sound pessmistic, but I would just be careful before putting up the money for a car with such an outrageous deal.

Sounds a little too good to be true, but if everything checks out I'd buy it in a heart beat. There was a deal like this on crx resource a long time ago first gen b16 i/h/e springs shocks for 1500. I thought it was too much of a good thing so I passed, but the guy who ended up buying it drove it from las vegas to ohio...
Anyways, good luck

actually, there are about 8 other cars in the garage that need to go (BMW M3, Benz, some older MG looking convertible...etc)
as for the b16 swap, it's a new swap done a few months ago but has not been driven much because of other projects, just a stock motor.....
and for a $3500-$3700 car, $2000 is a good hook-up price for a friend of a friend

ok ok i just got back from checking it out again with my dad, the guy cleaned the car ran it for us and it sounds mean.....the car was from ugly duckling os it has low miles, funny thing tho, a customer originally came in to get the b16 swap done, did didnt have any cash, so he just left the car to the shop. i'll get pictures up later, off to work
