when does vtec kick in?
I have a 2002 v6 automatic accord. At what rpm is the vtec supposed to kick in? i have redlined and i never hear the vtec or feel the surge. i have a gsr and was expecting kind of the same feeling. Is the vtec the same in this car as a gsr motor?
no vtec sucks

go read http://www.leecao.com/honda/vtec/index.html pay close attention to SOHC vtec.
sounds like everything is normal on your engine though.

Well, VTEC on the Accords engages anywhere from 2300-3200, depending on the manifold pressure.
It is set to come in almost at the perfect time.
I'm guessin on the V6's, they're tuned even better. Which is why you can't feel/hear it.

It should "kick in" at 3500 rpm and after a few mods you will really feel the crossover and you will enjoy it alot. An intake will really let you hear vtec and headers and a catback will open it up a lot and you will really like it.
