Sup guys, well the car has close to 100,000 miles on it now. 99 Civic Si. Just doing the maintenance on it, and ordered the Eibach Pro kits. Now, the shocks still seem good. I want to install these spring but was wondering if there are better shocks that work better with pro kits. Don't want to spend the money on Yellows. It doesn't have to be adjustable. Don't AutoX as much as I used to. What shocks do you guys recomend?

 

honestly, i'd probably just keep stock shocks.

prokits have such a ridiculously mild drop.. I dont think it should matter that much.

i'd only get better ones if I really wanted more damping force, for handling purposes.

of course i'd reccomend kyb agxs,

tokico blues or kyb gr2's, would be a bit better than stock for even cheaper than the agx's

 

That's the thing. I don't autoX as much as I would like. Of I drive spirtedly once in a while, so want some improve ment in handling. I was just looking at the AGXs 305.00 is the cheapest I've found them. I have no idea how to adjust thes, meaning when do I add more damping and when I don't. Anyone know anything about these? Is that 305.00 shipped? If so where did you find them?--I would keep it stock if I were you.

The tockico blues are cheap, but a very nice mild upgrade. I have them on my Accord with Ground Control's. 75,000 miles and no problems at all.

 

get the agx's.
that is the best price you'll find, and they are a HUGE improvement in handling.

basically they have 4 settings, 1 being softest, 4 stiffest.
stiffer you set them, the less body roll you will have, but a harsher ride.

usually finding a nice medium is what you'll want,
you'll end up with alot more grip and responsive handling.

stock shocks are good for giving you a soft ride.. thats all.. that and saving money.

Keep the stock dampers. Pro Kits were designed for them anyways. I have 187,000 miles and I still have the original OEM dampers and the Pro Kits since 70,000 miles.

 

keep stock if u want that soft ride, performance shocks will stiffen it up a little bit. but personally i would stay with stock unless u autocross it. pro-kit = 2 fat passengers. do you feel you need performance shocks to carry 2 fat friends?

 

the prokit is about 15% stiffer than stock and ull want to match them up with a atleast a shock that ll give u atleast the same dampening force..if not u can say goodbye to the shocks within the yr..with 100k on ur car it d be a good idea to change the shock s while ur at it

the tokico blue s and KYB GR2 s would be ok..but, i had the blues and they start d to weaken on me after a yr of use..must be due to the way i drive on them..so i swap d them out and got the koni reds..most of us are not ur normal driver s..we tend to drive a little harder than usuaul

but for the money ud spend on the koni reds..u may as well put out a few extra dollars and get the AGX s..they re easy to adjust with a little screwdriver they provide..
