50 shot w/ skunk 2 stage 2??
i know this is the all motor forum, but here's my question anyway. i'm trying to help out my good friend w/ his build up. can he run stage 2's w/ a 50 shot of nitrous? supposedly the cams have alot of overlap. that's why i'm asking here on honda-tech. his setup is as follows:
b20 vtec
11 to 1 compression
portflow head w/ stage 2's
je pistons
eagle rods
fully worked up crank
310's
vafc
He's not to satified w/ his setup because of all those turbo honda's lurking around.

i spoke to jonathon @ skunk 2 and he highley recomened this . Also many guys on the streets here in NY r running about 11.5.1 cr and spraying hard and as we all know these cams love high comp. Just make sure your fuel is right and u got traction
Try it out. A 50 shot isn't much and with the forged internals and a 11:1 CR, it should be fine. Just make sure to have enough fuel.

i am running jun 3's with a 75shot and the cams come to life more then you could ever imagine. my air/fuel is a phat mixture. for the colder weather, they like it even more.
that motor would easily handle a 50 shot, its all about tunning and not going cheap on stuff, skunks cams are not that bad that the gases wont escape. that motor would love a 100 shot
do it direct tho....

how about a 12.5.1 84mm sleeved, stainless valves forgred everything setup?? with skunk2 stgII's of course along with springs and retainers. Would a 100 direct port shot be safe if tuned correctly??
like u said as long as its tuned. i have a 81mm gsr motor. 12.5:1 je pistons, crower rods, block guard, gsr head with full ferrera head package. skunk stage 3 cams. skunk ecu, skunk intake manifold, dc 4-1 jdm header, feilds vafc. and a very good amount of nitrous. car went 10.88@127. 2000lbs 94 civic coupe
I'd think any Hondas that run a 10 sec 1/4 would be on slicks.
That's a pretty simple setup for that kind of time.
How much is a lot of nitrous?

it was deffinately on slicks. the car started on a 100 shot and was running high 11's. gradually went up and is now up to a 180 shot. problem with the car is traction. and drivetrain. i need a tilton style clutch. normal puck clutches dont last long at all. i still manage to pull 112mph in the 1/8. car needs another 80 shot up top. cant do that till i sleeve the block and lower compression a little to be on the safe side
It's been dynoed right? What kind of power is it putting out w/o nitrous and with the 100 shot? I don't think I'd try a 180 shot though. If you're going to run in Gainesville or Brandenton track, let me know. I'd like to come and check it out. How many stages are you running?
112mph in the eight....wild.

i hope to bring the car to gainesville some time next year. the motor dynoed at 210hp all motor. never dynoed it with the 100 shot. but my jetting pattern actually adds the hp im looking for. like on my 180 shot, the car dynoed at 393hp. im only running one stage right now.

These are my plans exactly. I need more fuel upgrades and a hondata. As far as using nitrous on all motor cams, I've been running a set of Crower 63403's for over a year now and had a wet 50 shot on it for a good bit of that time. I LOVED it. The car screamed. It really suprised me how much a 50 shot woke that motor up. I cant wait to get this new setup finished and go direct port. Bumping up the displacement and comp. ratio and porting the head should make a good bit of difference over what it used to be.
