Hey all on H-T ,

I have a 96 hatch , and the miles say 68 k , but on car fax it says that the miles are wrong, and i talked to the past owner and he said the DMV made a mistake, is there a way to check underneath the cluster if there is any tampering ? any tips would help thanks

 

I dont believe on a 96 or higher thats "possible"

I think in the newer models you cant roll back or anything like that. But then again, everyone can do everything.

I wanted to get a new si cluster for a 96 hatch dx and wanted exact mileage and everyone here said it couldnt be done except on earlier model years.

wrong!!

I swapped si cluster for dx cluster and swapped odometers. The odometer on 96-00 civics have a little black circular plastic piece that controls the odometer. You can roll it up or down. I don't believe there is a way to check to see if it has been done, only by carfax. If the DMV made a mistake, that a BIG mistake

K so someone told me to go to the dmv and said its a missprint, do they take a long time to process or not

i would imagine so, DMV's are always slow
