Default Custom painted LS Mesh wheels....what do you think...

Ok, well on 2 of my LS Mesh wheels something happened to the clear coat in some spots and it's chipping so i want to do something about it. Plus i may be trading these + cash for a set of slipstreams. I could just leave them as is, but the guy w/slip streams doesn't want them to look too messed up. Here's what the worst one looks like now. It's hard to see the messed up clear coat b/c of the flash...

I've never seen it done, but i was thinking of painting the dark grey parts on the wheels, black. Here's a quick photochop of what it would look like.

Or I could just paint the whole wheel a semi-gloss black. and I thought about getting the symbol cut out in dark red vinyl the same size as the emblem on the center cap and puttin that on the black wheel (it would match my car). Well what do you think? and how much do these wheels weigh, is it 15 lbs?

i was thinking black w/polished lip, but it's a 15" rim and the pol. lip makes it look so small...

if he's ok with taking the wheels as is. just leave it, and let him worry about it. on the other hand, since you are getting rid of them, i would do what's easiest to make him pleased with wheels. hope that makes sense.

Could anyone photochop the rims to be all black but leave a silver lip? That would look damn good.

Theres a blue Si around town that has those wheels with the inner mesh part painted black and the lip retained the polished finish. Even if they are 15's they look really good.

I like the photoshopped pic I saw someone local do something similar with 95 gsr wheels(they painted the inside/side of spokes black) it really brought out the wheel

I have real rims with real tires (Bridgestone Potenza S-03's), are those tires real enough for you? and what's wrong w/the LS Mesh wheels anyway? They're one of the lightest 15" OEM wheels.

Hey I have those wheels too and I think they are great. Don't listen to that bonehead. I think they look awesome painted black w. polished lip however, like it was said b4, they do make it look much smaller. My friend has gunmetal c8's w/ lip in 16s and they look smaller b/c of the lip too
