Default problem with allignment at body shop!!!

sup
i was rear ended a while ago and my car has been getting fixed in the shop for the past month. the body shop just called up and said that since my car was lowered that it was going to take more labor due to having to remove the control arms and such and such BS. so i was like ok.....what's the deal? he said that it was going to cost me an extra $300 out of my pocket! i told him WTF! the guilty person's insurance company (21st century) that hit me has to take care of it, why are you telling me this?!?! he said he was going to have to make sure and talk to the supervisor.........

now i want to know if they have to pay for this extra charge or not? if they refuse, can i sue them and get the money required to do a proper allignment?

i've been driving a POS mazda 626 that goes 0-60 in like 13 seconds and i'm getting impatient. i want my gsr back already!

if anyone can advise me on this, i'd really appreciate this, thanks

jason

edit: spelling

First of all, when you're getting bodywork that is covered y insurance, by law, you can go to any body shop, even if it costs a lot more than the shop that the insurance company recommends. In my opinion, it's best to go to a shop that understands OUR needs. For example, my car got vandalized over 3 weeks ago. Instead of going to a body shop that would make my car completely stock, I went to a shop that will shave my side moldings/antenna/emblems/paint new lip/prep paint stock sideskirts, for less money.

You should not be paying 300 out of your pocket. That is totally crazy. Did they already start working on your car? Maybe there is time left to go to another shop. You should explain to the insurance company that they're trying to screw you, and go from there.. If you have coilovers, maybe you should raise it for them??

good luck

If they're going to charge extra, they BETTER charge the person who hit you. I mean dam...your car gets hit, yet they want YOU to pay for something that wasn't your fault? Wouldn't they have told you from the start that they couldn't work on it because of your lowered suspension? Dam...I'd be real pissed. I hate dumb ******* that try to squeeze you for your money.

I'd contact your insurance company and tell them that they're asking YOU for more money. It just doesn't make sense.

I hope everything turns out alright.

thanks for the help guys, body shop called today and said it was all taken care of. the body shop is Precision Auto Body in Canoga Park, CA. reason i went there is becuase they are the body shop for dozens of car dealerships around here and they provide a life time guarantee on all work, most tuner shops won't. anyhow, i've got my oem body kit so it should be fine, i'm not into those flashy kits.

thanks again
