Default how long for a new clutch to wear in?

I've heard a couple schools of thought on this. I just got my ACT clutch installed and I'm dying to try it out and push it hard, but I've heard 3different ways to break it in. wait 500 miles(no higher than 3000RPMs), wait 300 miles(no higher than 3000RPMs), or don't wait and start punishing the clutch cause is can take it. so far I'm babying it and I'm not taking it over 3000RPMs(took to 4000k once or twice). what do you guys think?

I'm so glad the honda dealership told me I was in bad need of a new clutch. turns out the shop I took my car to get the clutch installed said the clutch had about 30,000 miles left on it. Freaking honda dealership. but the guy that installed it said that the throw out bearing from the original was shot, and the new one is a superior replacement. oh well, at least I won't have to worry about a clutch for a while. I'm all set with the dealership for now, well except for my cheap oil changes.

when my friend put in a clutch master in his prulude, his mechanic told him to wait 500 miles and to drive normal to break it in. Good luck

me and two of my friends put a centerforce dual friction clutch in my friends talon tsi. centerforce recommended a break in period of 500 miles, no more than 3000 rpm and the majority of the 500 should be city driving.

I've put on about 240miles so far and its been mostly city driving. I'll definately wait 500 miles before I beat on it. its really tough to keep it below 3000RPMs. By accident I went to 4000RPMs 2 times. I don't think it will be that bad for the clutch though.
