Default Moonroof opening at a rate of hours

i DID my search and no results, so now i have to ask:

any generation owners, have you ever had a problem with your sunroof taking like almost a minute to open?? My signature says what kind of car i have, but i have to tell you that when i close it, it stalls like half-way closed....what do i do?

I have always checked the tracks and they all have grease and the what not, but today it started doing this, although lately i have noticed the sunroof take a long *** time to open/close compared to other cars or the same with a "good working" sunroof.

Has anyone had this problem??

If so, what did u do about it?

Thanks.

I have a 97 Prelude as well, and I know that in the warmer part of the year, the moonroof will fly back like it's been super lubed or something--but when it starts getting colder out, like now, it goes back real slow and sometimes, it'll lag for a second. I know what you're talking about. Really it's just cold weather that makes it rub more when sliding back. I've cleaned out my track before and re-lubed it once and it seemed to help out a bit. Try that, but otherwise, it's just cold weather.

Edit: My buddy's 98 SH does the same thing as well during colder months...

sounds like the motor might be going bad.

I thought my sunroof's motor was dying too when I first got my 94 VTEC.

I lubed the track w/this stuff Honda uses - cant remember the name though - "white lighting"???? No thats not it I cant rembemer but it's white and it made a big difference.

The motors not dying but it will if you don't regrease the tracks. Get a dgreaser, qtips, a small flat head, and a rag and clean the tracks out. You'll want to move the sunroof around so you can get to as many areas as possible. Then regrease. That took care of it for me.

thank you everybody, i believe the greasing the tracks again will help, because this morning got a little warm around my area(chicago) and it opened/closed at normal speed, so the cold temperatures and the tracking parts had a lot to do with this.

Next project for sunday: lube the **** out of the tracks and take the body switch for turn signals apart to repair it. Next project install my header and my apexi ws system...gains 5 hp at most if i drive w/o vtec...j/k....i don't know what the gains will be...help me out.

thanks again. everyone is great help...but i don't get the h22 part again????? i went over my head, ill catch it next time.

later.
