Default Upgrading my alarm

I want to get a new alarm to replace my stock one. I found some on ebay that are really inexpensive, and just wanted to see if they were junk or what the deal was.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...14934 That one seemed pretty damn nice for the money. Has anyone purchased one of these? Do you reccomend I look at them?

That seems nice too, also the "microwave sensor" seems like a good idea for my convertible.

I saw a sticker on my window that says "Protected by Silencer Alarms" or something to that effect, and there is an LED screwed into the bottom of the dash where my knee is, with a button on the back. If I press it, the LED flashes when I arm the alarm, and it also beeps the horn, where as it doesnt beep when I dont press the button. What does that do? Is it some kind of add on?

That Black Widow alarm system is a good unit. We've installed several of them for customers and they've been very happy...

Is there any way to set up the remote start to where it wont start the car if it is left in gear? Ive heard some horor stories about that. Also, what kind of installation time am I looking at here?

Thats really bad ***. I would probably pay more for the install than I would the actualy unit, wouldn't I?

They are good alarms if u want to get jacked, the pager units are so cheap, they have shitty range and will brake if u drop em 2 many times.

Get a Avangurd G4 or G5 Unit with Blackjacks or throw your money into a car that can be easily stolen, The Blackjack units make it so they can only tow the car, I HAVe NEVER HERD OF ANYONE WITH BLACKJACK UNIT GETTING JACKED EVER, unless they told 2 many people there code.

Thats also why they run 600 to 2000 for install
Club and Autolockers are a + as well, the more layers the better off you are

Are there any less expensive alarms that I can purchase, and add on a pager? I was quoted 3-4 hours, and 4-5 hours for the Clifford alarm. Basically, I want the pager, and the remote start (with the gear safety switch). If anyone knows of one that suites those needs, lemme know.

Thats the best one Ive seen so far. However I have been quoted very lengthy install times for this unit. Would it be possible to leave some of the features unhooked, and have the system still perform properly?

2 bad ur not in the bay my boys shop does good work and charges cheap for install, but they sell this unit installed for like 500, but they can't match prices u get on ebay, that guy selling that system is making 10 bucks if that

I would get that if u are tight on money, i would also get a fuel cut off switch, and club and autolocker just to be on the safe side.

Tight money? Thats one of the best alarms on the market...

But what about only installing a few features, to reduce install time?

You can get a Clifford Intelliguard 6000 with an Intellistart 4 installed and out the door for about $300-$400. That's an alarm with keyless entry, parking light flash, starter kill, etc. Also includes remote start with short stop mode (you can get out of the car, which is still running, with the key out of the ignition and in your hand). It's all you need. The pagers are nice, but it's too much to mess up. Not trying to offend anyone (please don't flame me). I have a Viper RS3 with the pager remote. After 4 months, the remote is already messing up. Warranty will cover it, but I'll have to send it in to the manufacturer and they will send me a new one so I'll be without an alarm for about 2 weeks.

My .02: Get a Clifford. The remote start is made for 5 speed trannies. You CAN'T start it in gear unless you stick your hand in the window and put it in gear on purpose. But if you add the perimeter sensor, the alarm will go off, and you can't remote start it anyway.

Good luck with your decision

Its Blackjax

I have one in my car along with the RS3. Its like having two seperate alarms in the car, gotta disable both before using. and about blackjax, IT JuST ROCKS! Everytime you wanna use your car, u have to enter a specific pattern into a 2-button pad. If the jacker doesn't know your code, the car will not start, even if you have the key. Everytime your car is shut off, blackjax is on and automacally kills the engine. So, even if a thief goes into your car and rips out blackjax, the car still will not turn on. Good stuff and a good investment But i'm sure thieves will get smarter and find a way around it (towing). TIll then, its a good thing to have

Also, i would recomend that you get Tilt sensors.

You know you're a baller when you got remote start

Places like Best Buy or Circuit City won't install the remote start option because of liability purposes. I went to a clifford certified shop called Audio Excellence, they instlal is reasonable. 150 for the RS3 and 90 for the blackjax.

Don't forget to leave the car in neutral tho!
