Every now and then when I start the car and drive it could, in first gear, right after i start, it will jerk some like it wants to die, and then i give a little gas and its ok again, or, ill hold the clutch a rev through it and its fine...it it just an issue with the car not being warm, or could it be a fule clog or something somewhere? it does not do it after Ive been driving...so im assuming that the fuel hasnt fully gone through the line and that causes the hessitation, but better safe then sorry. Thanks for anything....

 

if it runs fine when its warm then just let it warm up ... mine did this... i dont think its a big deal

 

sounds like maby your fast idle valve is not opening... it the one right under your throttle body... make sure the water lines are properly connnected... its easy to replace when its cool... good luck,tom

 

what about when your motor reves up and down when idling? It does this sometimes with it's cold or hot... Lets say it's jumped to 1500 rpm then 1000 then 1500 then 1000. Any clue what could be the problem? I thought it went away but it's coming back to haunt me.

 

If you are having driveability issues check all of the maintenance items- plugs, cap, rotor, etc. Tune up the motor and see how things run. Then if it still has probs you have eliminated all of the obvious. hth

 

Could the fuel filter be a little clogged?

 

car reving up and down in idle.. yeah i had the same problem. i just posted my story and solution for an irratic idle yesterday. anyways, turned out to be my distributor. anyways, i agree, go get a tune up.
