wire is wire..

but of course strand count sometimes matter...some 4 gauge wires have 2000 strands while other has 1800 or so..

http://www.knukonceptz.com

very nice set and only cost about $35 shipped. i'm running one right now and couldn't ask for more. they give u RCA with built in REm so u don't have to run the extra little blue wire.

I just dont know if its better to get the more or less brand name street wires unit or the stuff you showed me...

i'd get the knuconceptz over the street wire anyday. when u actually get the stuff..u can see that the product quality is very nice. more stand is better. wire will be more flexible and can carry current better without much resistance.

not to mention they give u 20 ft of 12 gauge speakers wires and a knuconcept decal/sticker. lol.

i have a Directed 1100d. rated at 1100x1@1ohm. a tad underrated too.

thats not a remote wire, its for a ground. it stops engine noise.

i'm pretty sure its an REM wire since i installed it yesterday. hell..even knuconceptz said it was a built-in REM wire. by the way..if anyone is gonna stop ground loops, surely u want something MUCH bigger than 22-24 gauge, shorter than 6" or so. this thing is 20 feet long..

it is for grounding the rcas, no the amp. that wire in the middle of the rcas is called a "drain", and you only need to ground the end at the headunit.

I emailed asking this comapny for more info, this is what they told me they use in the kit:

Kolossus Kable 4 Gauge Blue Power Wire
Description: Kolossus Kable 4 Gauge Blue Power Wire features 2058 Strands of Pure Oxygen Free Copper. Our Kables consist of the highest and finest strands of copper in the industry. Providing less resistence over the length of you installation, resulting in higher voltage (less voltage loss) and cooler components.

This is street wires: 1672 strands of the same oxy free copper

didn't know its called a drain. Knukonceptz calls it the "built-in remote turn on lead"

nobody is stopping you from using it as a remote wire. I wouldnt run 12volts with my rcas.

why not? its only a small signal from the headunit. nothing major like power wire.

It can be used as a remote turn on... but it can also be used to carry any potential difference in voltage between the units caused by differences in the grounds. Either way, as long as you run a remote wire and do not notice any extra noise in the system, you'll be fine.

oh, and as long as the kit comes with everything you need (wires, connectors, fuse holder(s), etc).. for $22 you can't really go wrong.

ah..u wouldn't run 12v next to RCA because of ground noise..i get it... hate to break it to ya..but the car chassis acts as a big conductor so it wouldn't even matter if the power wire was next to the RCA.

physics can do wonder....

The chassis is ground though, you are talking about running a 12 volt signal in the middle of your RCA cable...

One thing everyone has told me is to keep as much distance between power wires and audio wires.

true, but the current draw on the remote lead is so small, I doubt you'll notice an interference.

that kit is pretty cheap, we used to sell a kit like that at my old shop for over triple the price. ( and people would buy them !?!?!?)
One thing I would say is that perhaps, to keep cost down, they may have cheaped out on the RCA shielding.... but for 20 buck, who cares.

its a myth that has been floating around. i run my power wire next to my RCA's all the time and it doesn't affect anything. ask david navone. he'll tell u that the noise is not due to the rca and power, but from something else. can't remember what he said.

thats basically all u need to run an amp. power wire, ground wire, RCA w/REM, speaker wires, fuse and fuse holder, etc.

that unless u have something else in mind u want.
