Default Mugen exhaust measurements "SPORTS EXHAUST SYSTEM" (intensive)

Per request.... Some measurements on the exhaust system.

Nice looking system... I wish I could affore one.
Starting from the cat connection....working my way to the tip.

Cat connection flange

Circumference of pipe after cat flange

Circumference after resonator

"B" pipe outlet (carbon build-up makes it hard to see the starting spot... it is at 3" (i.d. measurement))

Muffler inlet (pipe wall inside of flange)

Rear section circumference

BTW...

C = 2 pie R

D = 2 R

Wall thickness was not measured.

This definitely looks like the USDM exhaust.....notice how much smaller in circumference the cat to resonator piping is when compared to the after resonator and before muffler measurements. I'm too lazy to do the math right now, but it's probably a .5 inch difference or more.

Okay, the Microsoft calculator program tells me that the before resonator diameter is 2.12" and after resonator is 2.38." So it looks like 54mm vs. 60.5mm...... Not .5" difference, but .25" is still a lot!

Does the JDM Mugen cat back has the 2.5" at the cat outlet?

In the first picture the B pipe flange ID looks like about 1-7/8"

So whats the Consensus on the Mugen Cat-Back? I know the quality is great, sound is great etc...Are real world gains made with say, An intake and Mugen Catback alone? If I was to drop $1000 on the cat-back could I assume I would gain atleast 3-5 whp, or is that way to high?
Thanks a lot for any info.
M
