What kind of metal are LS Mesh wheels made of?

What i really need to know is if i sand them down, then polish them, Will Mothers work?

They are aluminum mixed with some other materials.

Hence "aluminum alloy."

but it has a clear coat on it.....thats why peeps use aircraft stripper b4 they paint their rims

That's what i was afraid of. These have some minor scratches in the clear coat. What would be the best way to recondition them?
