i cant seem to find the clips thats holding on to the vent. hwo did u guys take urs off? thanks

 

There should be two metal tabs/clips at the top on each side on the top. Try to grasp the vent and pull down a bit so the clips will clear the dash. Sometimes the clips will get caught on the dash and either bend or break. Be careful and try not to take it apart often....it only causes looseness and rattles.

You know you dont have to take out the center vent to replace the radio, right?

How come you are taking out the center vent? To paint it? Install center channel? etc.

If you can, try to clean it with some Q-Tips or something. Taking that piece on and off will only make things looser.

I agree. try even using a toothpick with a paper towel over the tip to get into tight spaces. taking things on and of != good.

 

i found those shaving cream brushes to come in pretty handy as well... i cant remember what they are called??
