Default BIG PROBLEM think Im screwed!!

I just bought a box off of Audiodealer.com

PROBLEM:

See that glass! My Audiobahns dont fit under it! Like I need another inch of clearance for them to fit so Im screwed. Do you think I could get some money back because they said my specific model would fit?

SOLUTION:

Because its a bandpass box will the box still function with the subs inverted with no glass? Or will it be no good?

Really pissed

Thanks

you have to have that side of the box enclosed. It's probably not a great box anyway...and obviously not designed for those drivers...I'd builld a new box.

I know they wont sound like crap. It looks amazing and audiobahns I just love the loomks. Hey Im 17 and had a limitied budget so thats what I got. Just wanna know If i can take off the top plexiglass and I dont think it will make a differentence because the subs will be firing down into the bottom and coming out the 4 ports.

Do I have to make a custom top in wood class to clear the subs or dooes it not matter if the glass is off?

BTW- is in a box tuned to 33hz and is in a gutted crx

just build your own box........ it will make a big difference if the glass is off because your subs arent only pushing down....

i've heard that exact same box with some audiobahns in it, all you can hear is what sounds like the subs bottoming out, that box blows ***, as do all bandpass boxes, go sealed or ported

It is hard to design a bandpass if you have the parameters for the subs that will go in it. How do you expect a generic bandpass box to sound any good....

If you said you heard the same box with audiobahns in it then it wont sound the same as mine. Like I said, mine dont fit. He had the lower end audiobahns which wound like there bottoming in any box. I have the higest 12 I think they make, wont fit!

Just going to raise the glass. Problem solved, I know for a fact that the box is great because Ive heard a set of fosgates pushed by a jl 300/1 amp pound in a bubble. Its all good

No you can't taske the glass off and use it. The ports were designed to have the glass on. But I do agree with the other guys, go buy a premade box at a stereo shop. It shouldn't cost you more than 100 dollars for a decent one. If you can't find one let me know and I can ship you one.

I forgot about that point also. When you remove the glass, and make it higher. you will make sealed chamber of that bp box larger. This will change it sound.

easy fix go to a kitchen or cabinet building shop and have wooden MDF strips cut for the same size of the plexi and screw them on this will give you the extra height needed to clear the subs make sure you seal it properly so no air gets out paint the strips to a color to match the box. if it does not work return the box
