so what else could it be?
I've had a couple of mechanics diagnose my car and they said it was clutch master cylinder, but I just changed that with a brand new unit and still the same problems! Can't get it into gear!! I'm thinking about buying a new slave cylinder but I don't know if this will help. I took it out and I am going to bring it to a shop to see if it's still okay (cuz I really don't know how to visually inspect one to see if it's okay). I'm also not too sure if it's the slave because the fork moves back and forth when the clutch is depressed. I'm not too sure how much movement there is, but it's definately moving. If it's not the slave cylinder ,what else could it be? Someone suggested that I need a new tranny but if that were the case, what symptoms would there be?
well, I can sometimes get it into gear, but that takes a while, and once it is in gear, I can shift to any gear I choose, but once I start to move I can't get it back into any gear unless I fidget with it for a while more! It does not grind because I will only push it in so far and then the car will very slowly start to move forward, but like I said, if I fidget with it for a bit, it will sometimes go into gear and then I can move forward or backwards but once I do move, then it's hard to shift again.
Sometimes when you have to change out the master cyclinder, you'll have to change out the slave cyclinder also. I had to do it on my car, as well as a friend of mines car. Did you bleed all the air out of the system?

im curious on this too
i have a friend with a gsr , that his presure plate wenton his clutcha nd we originally thought it was his master cylinder. after we replaced that and continued to have the problem, we bleed the clutch for liek ever and still had the same problem. it turned out that the fingers on his pressure plate were disformed and even thought the master and slave cylinder were doing what they were supposed to , when he pusshed the clutch the clutch would just not disengage. you tranny is fine, this is how my friend got his car to move. he would push it into gear (1st) and once in gear he could rev match to other gears. my only other question is can you shift the tranny when the car is not running. if you can i bet its either you presure plate or you slave cylinder. but if you say that your getting move ment then id lean toward the pressure plate

well, I just changed the slave cylinder too and the problem still remains. So It's not the slave cylinder and it's not the clutch master cylinder, that's for certain. I took it for a drive and was able to get it into gear but I had to lift my foot off the clutch and it was kinda like 75% depressed for the gear to go in and some other times I would have to kinda pump it a bit for it to go in and for me to shift.
Also, the gears go smoothly when the car is shut off and when I had the car idling and I had my girlfriend step on the clutch, I could hear some wierd noise, not really grinding but something similar to it.
