Default Help me out!!! My all motor ls/vtec engine is malfunctioning!

Ok, i have a fully built ls/vtec integra. i was driving on the freeway at around 65 miles per hour and all of a sudden i started hearing this really rapid clicking noise that was really really fast. I pulled over to the side of the road and then called a friend and he pulled it home with his truck. I looked around and couldnt really find out what was wrong but when i put my hand on the valve cover and i could feel a knocking on the right side of the top of the cover. I think it could possibly be that my cams are shot or that i have blown cam bearings, or possibly a stuck or bad rocker arm. Does anyone have any ideas in what could possibly be wrong with my tegs engine. By the way the top end is a b18c5 and the bottom is a b20b. Please help me out, i am desperate.
kris

Another way to find out is to open it up. BTW, you have a crvtec motor and not an lsvtec.

What is a cam bearing? In my opinion part of the problem is you dont know what you are talking about....take the car to someone with some more experience with hondas

Cam bearings are the entire head and cam caps.

I have seen (not on hondas yet) where pleople had there head and cam caps bored out. They than put needle bearings in. Don't know if it really helps or hurts or nothing at all.

WTF?? What kind of stupidness is that??? How is it easier to "SAY" ls/vtec?? It's easier to type crvtec as there is 1 less key you have to type then saying ls/vtec. Do you have trouble pronouncing the C or the R???

Sorry but that has to be one of the stupidest things I have ever read or heard ANYWHERE!!!!!!!

As already posted above, check your rod bearings and main bearings.

LOL what's really funny is that it wasn't a mistake you are ACTUALLY that stupid. Guy doesn't even know what engine he has and he's saying my car is for pussies yet I know what engine I have and it would more than likely rip your car a new ******* LOL. Thanks for the laugh Mr Kristo you made my day hahaha

you cracked a wrist pin while you were driving on the highway? I'm not the most experinced by a long shot, but I don't think I've ever heard of a wrist pin breaking. Why wouldn't someone say something about the valve clicking or something. That would've been my guess, rocker arm or something like that.

how do you know its a wrist pin? have you taken the motor apart yet? first thing i would have done if my car did that would be to take off the valve cover look around sounds like something thats most likely in the head not the block.

From the sounds of it I doubt he even knows how to take off the valve cover let alone know what to look for or what he's looking at once the valve cover was off.

So let me get this straight Mr Kristo. You bought the car ALREADY MODDED and your bragging about "YOUR" car being quick to me??? LMAO when YOU build a car that's fast then come talk to me noobie.

Sorry to hear vtec2.0 that your car was ruined by some inexperienced loser who has no clue how to treat a nicely built engine.

vtec2.0 you said that he came back at you for everything?? Does that mean he tried to blame you for what was wrong with the car?? That's SAAAAAAAAD.

It doesn't sound like you know what the hell you are talking about ! You shouldn't have bought a mod car if you don't even know how to take the head off, I am a girl and even I can do that. I suggest you do some basic research and educate yourself, you should be posting here as a last resort not becuase you didn't do your homework. I am sorry vtec2.0, that car looks sweet.

i don;t want to get into it, but yes. he said the car had a broken t-belt when he picked it up in sacramento - but somehow mysteriously the car made it to oregon before the car was disabled. now he says i knew about "some" problem the whole time. my guess is he didn't know how to drive was hot rodding it with his buddy and jacked up the car on the way home and is now trying to cover his *** with his parents.

whatever - i have over 75 e-mails fromt eh kid to prove he didn't know what he was talking about the whole time. he questions the parts i used inth ebuild stating i never had 12:1 pistons from endyn. this is coming from the same kid who in another h-t post decided that it would be a good idea to s/c a 12:1 car. shoulda never have sold the thing....

acuragirl - thanks, it was nice meeting you. we should get together sometime

Damn the car got in the wrong hands sounds like. Sweet looking ride too from the pics. I say take it to a shop and MAKE SURE they know about doing B20/vtec swap b4 they do anything to it. I've heard this from some so called Honda mechanics thru friends...
"Is that one of those fancy Vtecer cars those are some really nice engines in those things..."

Bottom line: Take it to a reliable performance shop if you cant DIY
