Default S2000's less likely to be Stolen than type R?

I live in the Seattle area and the bastards have tried to get my car from my garage, and bent my window frame last week trying to get it before the alarm went off from the secure parking garage at my office. I have just about had it and I was curious if the S2000 has the same problems.

the type of thief you are describing is one that is determined and wants the car not for a joyride but for its parts. the reason demand for type r parts is high is because they can easily be swapped into any integra and many civics which, if you think about it, are pretty cheap cars for someone to buy, which means demand for their performance parts are high.

s2k = expensive and not portable.

hope that answers your quesiton.

s2ks are way more common too it's not like people would give an arm and a leg to put s2000 parts on their civic, or even sell them for mucho cash. might as well steal a camry if you sell parts. If you had a REALLY nice one I'd say any ******* car has a chance of getting hax0red.

like everyone else is saying. type R can be stolen and its parts sold to 20 different owners. S2000 parts can't fit in just about every honda like the Type R parts can...

just think about this...

how many R's are stolen weekly? at least a couple we know of because of HT. I'm sure there is more that we don't hear about.

you rarely hear of an S2K disappearing and i do mean RARE

I sent you a PM also about some nice little theft prevention tricks

My guess is the only reason the s2k doesn't get stolen as much is that the engine doesn't fit in any other honda but the s2k.My 91 civic si b16 turbo was stolen and completey stripped in 10 hours.

That will only stop amateurs, most type R's have that too.

Insurance quote for Sept 03 to Sept 04. These are Canadian prices.

my 2000 ITR $2,412 ($30K - almost 4yrs old)
compare this to what I thinking about owning instead.
2003 S2K $2,319 ($50K brand new)
2003 Infinity G35 Coupe $2,240 ($50K - brand new)

My almost 4yr ITR (buy back when lease finishes in May 2004 will be $17,000)
against brand new 50K cars.

Thieves are mostly low income people so theres really no point in stealing parts from a S2000 since they can't even afford one. Since an integra is more affordable they'll steal an R and use the parts in their tegs.

Not even remotely close. We're talking percentages I'm assuming since thats the only thing that really matters. Obviously if you sell a billion accords, and 500 ITRs, there more accords stolen, but not percentage wise.

The integra gets stolen 10x more often than an average car, and 3x more often than the number 2 most stolen car(Jeep Wrangler). I would assume the ITR gets stolen 2-3x more often than an integra.
