Default valve cover gasket replacement..

i was told that i need to do more than just replacing the gasket, what else do i need?

you need the seals that go around the spark plugs hole
and the valve cover seals that go where you bolt down your cover

and maybe some honda bond, but the spark plug gaskets dont really need to be replaced. but might as well.

Definitely get some kind of thread-locker but don't get the kind that requires heat or anything to remove, my valve cover nuts kept coming loose on me until I got some of this stuff.

Yes. or go to any auto parts store and ask for the anti-seize/thread locker section. i bought some recently and there was a blue and a red.. the red is the tougher of the 2 that requires heat to get the nut removed once it's locked so be sure to get the blue. the big tube is like $25 so get the smaller one it's like 4 bucks.

Honda-Bond and thread-locking compound are two different products with two very different uses.

The last time I changed my valve cover gasket and plug rings, I also replaced most of the rubber grommets that the valve cover bolts tighten against.

Sort of off topic but are the JDM grommets the same as USDM grommets? I look at valve covers on cars from japan and their grommets are silver while the ones i have are black.
